Hello WBOP Members, 

First, we hope you are excited about 2009 as much as we are! New is the resolution, new are the spirits and forever our warmest wishes to you. We want everyone in our WBOP Family to have a promising and fulfilling New Year!

WBOP 2008 Recap:

2008 will be remembered by many people as the year of bail-outs, stock market decline, housing foreclosure's, high unemployment rates and for others CHANGE. We celebrated the WBOP 10th year of networking and personal enrichment by building relationships & alliances throughout the year. 2008 was a year of growth and expansion for us... We welcomed hundreds of new members and hosted more gatherings than ever before. A big thank-you to the hundreds of you, who took the time to participate, volunteer, donate and support our success!

WBOP 2009 and Beyond:

2009 will be explosive! The All-New www.wbop.org website is set to launch this month and will be a resource that Members, Business Partners, and Sponsors can use to communicate: Events, Career Opportunities, Services, Products, Blogs, Links, Newsletters, and show member "Loyalty". The revamped website will be effective, efficient, and user friendly! 

Being a WBOP member in 2009 will have VALUE! All subscribing members will receive a WBOP membership card and welcome pack that will give our organization an identity, which in turn will give you access to discounts via corporate sponsors, member businesses, E-updates with special invites and privileges at our networking events.   

Your WBOP Network will feature 5 Channels for Involvement: 

1. WBOP Career Corner (Professional Development, Networking, & Seminars)

2. WBOP Education (Scholarships, Workshops, & Mentoring Programs)

3. WBOP Charities (Community Involvement, Volunteering, & Fundraising) 

4. WBOP Social Activities (Family Outing, Entertainment/Arts, Nightlife, Sporting Events, etc.)

5. WBOP Business Links (Effective business networking, Marketing, & Advertising Opportunities)

Just like years past... Membership is open to persons committed to civic or professional careers who support the Mission of our Organization. Membership eligibility is based on meeting one of the following:

 Active participation

 A positive attitude

 A desire for success

 The ability to help others 

Membership is simple... Rewards vast... Dedication & Commitment is all up to "You"! All WBOP members are invited to participate on committees. Opportunities are many and vary in terms of time commitment. Committee involvement is a key way for you to build relationships!

Unofficially we have 2000 non-registered members. Recruiting new members is essential to the continued growth. Our goal this year will be 10,000 new members in 30 US cities over 10 States. With your support and active participation we will accomplish this goal. The WBOP will capitalize on the very fact that a strong base yields influence. The biggest contribution that members will be asked to make, is in the collection of demographic data.  This information will be vital in our ability to secure corporate sponsorships. This data will not be provided to any person or persons not affiliated with the WBOP, the data will be utilized to present the strength and diversity of your organization with charts and graphs. Your Privacy is our highest priority! No personal information will be shared in the presentation of the data.

By showing the demographic data and mission of the WBOP our bargaining power increases.  Let's not forget that the campaign for Governor of Mass and our President-Elect were recently won via cyber campaigns. We can all agree that the fiscal viability of the organization is paramount to its longevity.  Therefore, with the focus for 2009 being on Recruitment and Retention... We will ask our members for a nominal annual membership fee of $25.00 that will help generate much needed start-up capital. Your membership fee will help continue and expand the strength of your network.

Over the next several weeks we will reach out to many of you with opportunities and ask for your help during our beginning stages. We are confident that together we will increase your sphere of influence, expand your access to resources, and enhance your visibility in the community.
